Meet A Pocket-sized 20 MHz USB Oscilloscope!

An oscilloscope is an awesome tool for engineers and electronics enthusiasts. Many of them today prefer using portable, compact and cost-effective scopes that cram a bunch of features and performance as a modern alternative to bulky benchtop devices.

Complete electronics lab in one low-cost, compact, USB-powered Scope

RS Components (RS) has introduced an ultra-compact oscilloscope, the RS Pro 2205A-20, that provides a full-featured oscilloscope performance in a compact, low-cost package. With the size of a passport, it is ideal for engineers on the move and can fit into a laptop bag while offering all the features and performance of a traditional benchtop oscilloscope.

As stated in the announcement, the RS Pro 2205A-20 features 20 MHz bandwidth and 16 kS capture memory and can capture up to 2000 waveforms per second. It has 8-bit vertical resolution and a maximum sampling rate of 200 MS/s, addressing a wide range of analogue and digital electronics and embedded system applications. Printing, copying, saving and sharing data are quick and easy thanks to its USB connection.

Key features of the Oscilloscope at a glance:

  • 6 instruments in one: It can be used as an advanced oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, function generator, arbitrary waveform generator and protocol decoder out of the box. Mixed-signal models also add a 16 channel logic analyzer.
  • Ultra-compact design
  • Up to 100 MHz bandwidth
  • Up to 128 MS buffer memory
  • Decode 16 serial protocols as standard
  • USB connected and powered
  • Windows, Linux and Mac software

The new RS Pro 2205A-20 oscilloscope is shipping from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions. The price includes all hardware and software features mentioned above, two switchable probes and a 5-year warranty.
