Vision Engineering has launched a new Field of View (FOV) video measurement systems which it says marks the beginning of a new era for fast and flexible shop floor measurement. The system is designed for QA (quality assurance) applications in electronics, automotive, aerospace, medical and plastics manufacturing: offering rapid, accurate non-contact measurement.

The TVM is offered in two models: TVM20 and TVM35 with field of view of 20mm and 35mm.
It can measure components of any shape with versatile measurement tools that cater to the needs of operators on the shop-floor.
The system’s small footprint saves space in the workshop or laboratory, while its ease of use eliminates operator errors and significantly reduces measurement time, providing a valuable asset for a wide range of quality assurance applications, such as instant go/no go assessments.
The company says that with TVM, there is no need to position the part, or even adjust the focus – just place the part within the field of view, and then run the program. Hundreds of measurements are taken (within the field of view) in seconds.
The TVM series utilizes flat field telecentric optics and illumination to create a sharp image of the component on its HD monitor. The telecentric lens provides a completely flat image, across the full field of view, without any curvature, or distortion and improves the video edge detection capability on complex parts significantly, according to the firm.
The availability of a moving stage also makes it possible to measure components larger than the field of view.
The TVM series come with M3 measurement software with a rich suite of features as well as simple data import/export and reporting capabilities.
